There is a never-ending list of outdoor recreational activities in Guanacaste. Examples include biking, hiking, scuba diving, boating, swimming, fishing, surfing, snorkeling, birdwatching, wildlife viewing, playing sports, and kayaking. The area also offers many indoor recreational activities, such as yoga, Pilates, visiting museums, going to the gym, shopping, meeting friends at local bars, playing games at casinos, and relaxing at the spa.
Guanacaste’s national parks, including Parque Nacional Guanacaste, Parque Nacional Santa Rosa, Parque Nacional Diriá, Parque Nacional Palo Verde, and Parque Nacional Barra Honda are home to a wide variety of birds, animals, and insects, including butterflies, beetles, spiders, moths, bats, frogs, vultures, monkeys, and snakes, which are just a few examples. Many areas of the parks have walking trails through forested areas, as well as museums, park guides, and other amenities.
